Player Workflows
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for common player tasks on Rugby Network.
Profile Management
Update Your Profile
- Navigate to Profile in the main menu
- Click Edit Profile
- Update your details:
- Name
- Bio
- Click Save
Add a Position
- Go to Profile > Manage Positions
- Click Add Position
- Select a position from the dropdown
- If this is your main position, check Primary Position
- Click Save
Remove a Position
- Go to Profile > Manage Positions
- Find the position you want to remove
- Click the Delete button next to it
- Confirm the deletion
Change Your Primary Position
- Go to Profile > Manage Positions
- Find your new primary position
- Click Edit and check Primary Position
- The previous primary will be demoted to secondary
- Click Save
Availability Management
Add Availability
- Navigate to Availability in the main menu
- Click Add Availability
- Set the Start Time (date and time)
- Set the End Time (date and time)
- Optionally select a preferred Position
- Add any Notes (e.g., "Available for training only")
- Click Save
Remove Availability
- Go to Availability
- Find the availability slot to remove
- Click Delete
- Confirm the deletion
Update Availability
- Go to Availability
- Find the slot to update
- Click Edit
- Make your changes
- Click Save
Finding Opportunities
Browse Open Needs
- Navigate to Browse Needs in the main menu
- View all open team needs
- Use filters:
- Position: Filter by your positions
- Date Range: Filter by when you're available
- Click on a need to see full details
View Need Details
The need details page shows:
- Team: Which team needs the player
- Position: What position is needed
- Event: Associated event (if any)
- Time: When the player is needed
- Notes: Additional requirements
- Status: Open, Filled, or Cancelled
Managing Commitments
View Your Commitments
- Navigate to My Commitments in the main menu
- View all your upcoming commitments
- Each commitment shows:
- Team name
- Event name
- Position
- Date and time
- Status
Understanding Commitment Status
- Accepted: You're confirmed for this event
- Cancelled: This commitment has been cancelled
What Happens When You Have a Conflict
The system prevents double-booking:
- You cannot have two commitments at the same time
- If there's a conflict, the team will see an error
- Check your commitments before confirming availability
Using the Dashboard
Dashboard Overview
Your dashboard shows:
- Profile Summary: Quick view of your profile
- Upcoming Commitments: Your next scheduled events
- Recent Activity: Latest updates

Troubleshooting
Can't See Any Needs
- Check your filters - try clearing them
- Ensure you're logged in
- There may be no open needs at this time
Availability Not Showing
- Make sure the time slot hasn't passed
- Verify the dates were saved correctly
- Try refreshing the page
Commitment Conflict Error
This means you already have a commitment during that time:
- Check My Commitments for existing bookings
- One of the conflicting commitments may need to be cancelled
